IT: Do you have it?

Do I have “it”?  No, I don’t.  I have me and me alone.  I trust in me.  I rely on me.  I look to me.  Me makes the best decisions.  Me knows me.  My dreams come from me.  My desires come from me.  Everything is about me.  Honestly, what is it about for you?  Do you have “it”?  Something you can’t explain, but you know “it” is happening?  I want “it”.  I need “it”.  I have been reading a ton lately and actually a couple things that I read today lined up and blasted me to my core.  I am reading a book titled, “It: How Churches and Leaders can Get It and Keep It”, by Craig Groeschel.  In this book he talks about the it factor.  It seems like some churches and leaders (both church leaders and secular leaders) have that it, and some don’t.  He list some characteristics that people with it share and ones they don’t.  Then, when reading 2 Peter 1:5-10 I was smacked with something square in the face.  The verses read as follows:  “For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with Godliness, and Godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.  For is these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.  Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you practice these qualities you will never fail”  Wow……wow.  I’m not sure how you feel, but I don’t want to be ineffective and unfruitful, I also don’t want to fail spiritually.  Do you love Jesus?  Is your passion for Jesus?  Honestly, I think I have been in love with the thought of being in love with Jesus and not getting around to it lately.  No more.  What is it for you?
